Short, satisfying addition to the Holloway series--I really liked both Travis and Andie. Actually, I've loved Travis throughout the series, and was very glad to see him get his own HEA...and the fact that it's an older woman with body image issues? Loved! It was also nice to get a peak into what's going on with the other couples--especially Spence and Lila, who are planning their wedding.Just What He Wanted was exactly what I wanted--an enjoyable way to spend a summer afternoon.

Just What He Wanted is another great addition to the Holloway series by HelenKay Dimon, it can be read alone or as part of the series. This story will break your heart and will make cry as you read more about the Travis Yardley and his past.
Travis Yardley is the nursery foreman for Thomas Nurseries. He is like part of the Thomas family, to Spence and Austin he is like an adopted younger brother and their father is like the father figure he needs in his life.
Andie Patterson has just moved from Philadelphia to Holloway looking for a new start, starting with a new job managing Mountain View Resort for Lila Payne. But the one thing she is determined to do after her very recent bad relationship with her ex-boyfriend is to put her heart on hiatus. Not only did he insult her by telling her that she needed to lose weight, she then catches him cheating on her.
Travis has been attracted to Andie from their first meeting, to the point that he lost his ability to speak coherently in front of her and he couldn't even think straight. But no matter that their attraction is mutual, Travis will have a hard time convincing Andie to give them a chance, for Andie has a hard time with their ten-year age difference.
Travis and Andie have a tough road ahead, but their love will help them get where they need to be. For first they must be able to get past their own problems and past before they can have the true happiness and love they can give each other.
Travis's past will break your heart and make you admire the man he has become regardless of the shadows that he has been running from. And he is just the man that Andie needs to show her how special she is just the way she is.
While Andie needs to learn that true beauty what truly matters is what's on the inside, for everything on the surface changes over time but true character and feelings will last a lifetime.

I've been waiting for Travis' story for a long time now, since LEAN ON ME in fact. In the previous books, which you don't have to read, because JUST WHAT HE WANTED is a standalone, I fell for Travis who was a secondary character.
It's really HARD for me to find the words to talk about Travis. He's just great. I wasn't prepared for this story. I found it to be heartbreaking.
Travis Yardley is the nursery foreman and overall go-to guy for Thomas Nurseries. He's twenty-five-years old. He is like the younger adopted brother to Spence and Austin Thomas. In fact, Travis looks up to Karl Thomas (Spence and Austin's father) as the parent he never had.
Andie Patterson is a friend of Lila Payne from WE'LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS. Andie is thirty-five and has just moved from Philadelphia to Holloway to manage the Mountain View Resort for Lila.
Unbeknownst to Travis and Andie, Lila has plans to set these two up. If first impressions are the way to a guy's heart, Andie immediately won Travis over when she pointed a gun at him. But these two have issues they need to overcome in order to be together. First off, Andie has a problem with their ten year age difference. Her biggest problem is that she isn't the skinny girl. Andie is a size fourteen, twelve on a good day. In fact, she recently lost a lot of weight, just to get down to that size. What makes Travis so amazing is the fact that to him age doesn't matter. When Travis looks at Andie, he doesn't see a woman with weight issues or an imperfect body. He just sees a woman who turns his world upside down and who is beautiful is every sense of the word.
I mentioned that the story is heartbreaking....Travis has a dark past, one which no one really and truly knows about. He's overcome a lot and he doesn't take the relationships he has with the Thomas family and the town of Holloway for granted. Karl Thomas and the town of Holloway truly saved Travis. Once you read this story and find out all the details, you will be amazed that Travis turned out to be the man that he is.
After everything Andie has been through in the past, she truly does need a man like Travis to let her know how special she truly is. And like Andie, Travis needs someone who is going to do what's best for him even when he disagrees. JUST WHAT HE WANTED is truly the BEST book of the Holloway series. If you haven't read any of the books, this is the ONE to read.

Just What He Wanted is just what I wanted in a low angst, sweet romance.
Travis’ backstory, which I’ve been waiting for, finally gets told. He’s had a nightmarish childhood but was rescued from disaster by an older man, Karl Thomas.
Karl recognizes something worthwhile in Travis and offers him a job in his nursery. Travis finds that he loves working outdoors. Full effort and being paid for it are icing on the cake.
Andrea is managing a mountain resort, healing from her ex and his manipulative, dangerous ways. Andie is unable to trust that Travis’s affection is real and that is the angst in the story.
I loved their teasing repartee as they got to know each other, making this a sweet romance with an HEA. Good book with just enough fear and anxiety.
